Longer 1 day classes for maximum practice time to go into an improv theme in greater depth.<\/h4><\/div>[vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<p>We create a safe, fun, friendly and supportive environment where improvisers are free to play and be themselves.<\/p>\n<p>These longer workshops are aimed at those wishing to improve skills in a particular area, with more practice time than any other workshop.<\/p>\n<p>We start with some fun and friendly warm-ups and then move on to lots of exercises based on the theme of the day, where you get to practice an improv skill in depth. How can one person hold and keep the audience before a second character enters and a word is even spoken? How can Laurel and Hardy get ten minutes out of simply trying to enter a room.<\/p>\n<p>Using elements of clowning and physical theatre, we\u2019ll spend this workshop making the mundane interesting.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Phil Whelans<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Phil Whelans is a comedy writer, actor, improviser and director. He performs in Grand Theft Impro, one of London&#8217;s most popular improv shows. He is currently starring in his\u00a0Radio 4 sitcom, <em>My First Planet, <\/em>which he also wrote. His sketch group, <em>Pros from Dover,<\/em> were resident sketch group for two series of <em>The Infinite Monkey Cage<\/em> on Radio 4. He\u2019s written topical mirth for the <em>11 O\u2019Clock Show, The Big Breakfast<\/em> and <em>The Now Show<\/em>, script edited BBC sketch show <em>Velvet Soup<\/em> and Radio 2\u2019s <em>Jason Byrne Show<\/em>.
