The central scene is returned to throughout the format as the show explores relationships, emotions, fun and even society as a whole!<\/p>\n<p>As an improviser you get to rapidly grow your improv skills as you learn to perform totally different styles of improv all in the same show.<\/p>\n<p>Performing The Deconstruction is like being in a highlights tour of the whole of improv, as different styles weave together to make one big beautiful improv quilt. It can be funny yet moving, throw away yet poignant, silly yet thought provoking, all in one show.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to relationship based scenes, thematic scenes and tangential scenes you&#8217;ll also explore social commentary and satirical scenes that go deep and explore what&#8217;s happening in the world right now.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s like the UK&#8217;s Saturday Night Live, but made up on the spot.<\/p>\n<p>We originally learnt this from Rachel Mason, head of advanced improvisation at Second City in Chicago. She has also written for BBC Radio Comedy and is a regular on the improvised podcast Destination.<\/p>\n<p>Maria has performed at numerous international improv festivals including Estonia, The Netherlands, Philadelphia, Portugal &amp; Dublin.<\/p>\n<p>She has studied with Charna Halpern, the founder of iO Chicago and author of Truth in Comedy, who originally developed The Harold with Del Close.<\/p>\n<p>She has also studied with Keith Johnstone, New York\u2019s Upright Citizens Brigade in New York and Second City in Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>To top it all off Maria is a professional educator.
