{"id":29952,"date":"2023-06-12T23:25:05","date_gmt":"2023-06-12T22:25:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hooplaimpro.com\/?post_type=resource&#038;p=29952"},"modified":"2025-06-20T07:46:42","modified_gmt":"2025-06-20T06:46:42","slug":"the-mixer","status":"publish","type":"resource","link":"https:\/\/www.hooplaimpro.com\/mixer","title":{"rendered":"The Mixer"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>The Mixer<\/h1>\n<p>A regular show at Hoopla designed to bring together a mix of different improv acts, to help improvisers build up stage time as they develop their show, and to grow the improv community.<\/p>\n<p>The Mixer also helps improvisers and audience get to know each other and make new friends in London, and most of all have a great time with improv.<\/p>\n<p>Each night consists of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Big warm up with all the groups together getting to know each other.<\/li>\n<li>3 x 15 minute improv acts.<\/li>\n<li>Interval.<\/li>\n<li>Mix of acts and occasional headline act.<\/li>\n<li>Social in the bar with cast and audience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We try to fit everyone in but due to limited space and high demand we can\u2019t guarantee a spot for everyone.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that to take part your group will be expected to help promote the show and to stay for the whole show to support the other acts.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Application notes<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The show is free so is unpaid. If the event does switch to paid tickets we operate on a 70\/30 split with 70% of ticket income split between performing groups depending on how long their set is, and the remaining 30% to Hoopla to help cover venue costs and staff costs.<\/li>\n<li>We don\u2019t book much soloprov or twoprov, we mainly book groups of 3+, so that more people can be involved with the night.<\/li>\n<li>We try to fit everyone in but due to limited space and high demand we can\u2019t guarantee a spot for everyone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What we look for<\/strong><\/h2>\n<div>\n<div>If your team is booked to play at Hoopla your group will be expected to do the following things:<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Put on the show you have been booked for.<\/li>\n<li>Bring your full cast that\u2019s expected for the show.<\/li>\n<li>Put on your best show.<\/li>\n<li>Bring in an audience.<\/li>\n<li>Promote the event on social media (@hooplaimpro), as a group and also as individual cast members.<\/li>\n<li>Share cast photos at the event on social media (@hooplaimpro).<\/li>\n<li>Stay until the end of the event to support the other acts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>We monitor these points and use them when deciding whether to then offer your group more dates in the future and when potentially progressing shows to other nights.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"post-body\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>How to apply<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>We are currently accepting submissions for our Autumn 2025 season, please apply by Sunday 20th July 2025.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSeu3WAE-OfcdK8M2Sk_f1a2mu2jZduRXiapKHQ-4YWgGl1_zw\/viewform\">&gt;&gt; Application Form<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":30019,"template":"","format":"standard","class_list":["post-29952","resource","type-resource","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.2 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>The Mixer | Hoopla<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"A regular show featuring a mix of improv acts.
