HOOPLA <\/b>is casting for an exciting limited-run narrative show!

Scandalgate<\/b><\/i> will hilariously detail the rise and fall (and maybe fall again) of the corrupt and the incompetent, the well-meaning and the vaguely competent – set in the world of the media, business and politics.

Think Succession<\/i><\/b>, The Newsroom<\/i><\/b> and House of Cards<\/i><\/b>, thrown in a blender with The Thick of It<\/i><\/b>.

Like all good narrative improv, it will be a mix of high stakes, emotional connections, grounded relationships and abject silliness.

The show will be directed and coached by Leo Maxwell, a founding member of narrative improv maestros The Descendants<\/i><\/b>. Leo has produced their sell-out shows at The Camden Fringe in 2019 & 2022 as well as this year\u2019s Vault Festival and is an unashamed narrative improv nerd.

For this show, we are looking to hear from improvisers with a passion for and ideally some experience of narrative improv comedy. We\u2019d also welcome applications from those who have 3+ years performing long-form improv but who are drawn to storytelling.

You don\u2019t have to be an avid politico but an interest in the news is a plus.

Cast members are expected to have good availability across the below dates, particularly for rehearsals – although as it is the summer, there is a little more flexibility around performances, where you can expect to do roughly 2\/3s of the shows.
